Why are we Sweeter?
It's our secret formula
We would like to say that we are awfully clever mad inventors and have created the ultimate formula to grow the best bananas, but we have to be honest and say it is just our unique climate and growing conditions are perfect for producing our sweeter banana. Because of our arid desert climate we need to grow our bananas close together, this protects them from harsh summer heat, keeps in the moisture and creates a humid microclimate, keeps our bananas a little warmer in winter and protects them from our sea breezes in the summer. All of these conditions, our temperatures and the shade created by keeping our bananas nice and close results in a much longer growing time. Our banana trees get a little stressed and put all of their effort into producing our fruit, a smaller and sweeter sub-tropical banana.
Our desert climate also protects us from lots of nasty bugs and pests that plague bananas just about everywhere else they are grown, this means we don’t have to treat our bananas with fungicide or pesticide sprays, in fact we use a little system called integrated pest management. (IPM). This means when we do get a few little bugs, we get some predatory bugs to eat them up, creating an eco-system much like nature intended.
So no GMO here, just bananas growing as nature intended, slowly and naturally and creating a yummy healthy banana for you to eat.
